LI Dongxiao

Received his B.Sc. degree in College of Artificial Intelligence from Chongqing Technology and Business University, Chongqing, China, and Ph.D. degree in Instrument Science and Technology from Chongqing University, China, in 2022. He is now a Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, NUS. His research interests are focused on mid-IR metamaterials and nanophotonics for sensing applications.

ZHANG Zixuan

Received his B.Eng. degree from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2018. LIU Weixin

XU Yunlong

HONG Jianlong

She is currently a Research Engineer in the Department of ECE, NUS. Her research interests are focused on neuromorphic computing and smart sensor systems.

XIAO Zian
Ph.D. Student / Self-finance / Aug., 2022

Received his B.Eng. degree from the School of Electronic and Information at Soochow University, Suzhou, China, in 2020. Then he worked at HiSilicon, Huawei as an ASIC verification and test engineer. He is currently a Research Engineer in the Department of ECE, NUS. His research interests are focused on specific integrated photonics circuits for artificial intelligence.

ZHUGE Yangyang

Received his B.Eng. degree in Communication Engineering from Soochow University, China, in 2022, and M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from National University of Singapore (NUS), in 2023. XU Jinlong

WANG Yinpeng

Received the B.S. degree in Electronic and Information Engineering and the M.S. degree in Electronic Science and Technology both at Beihang University, Beijing, China in 2020 and 2023, respectively. He is currently a PhD student at the Department of ECE, NUS. His research interests focus mainly on MEMS metamaterials and deep learning techniques.

XIAO Mengyao

Received her B.Eng. degree in Opto-Electronics Information Science and Engineering at Sichuan University, Sichuan, China, in 2023. After that she received her M.Sc degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), National University of Singapore (NUS), in 2024. She is currently a PhD student at the Department of ECE, NUS. Her research interests focus mainly on MEMS/NEMS sensors, memory and filters for sensing, computing and communication at the edge.

Received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020. He later obtained his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2023. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the department of ECE, NUS. His research interest lies in the intersection of sensors, actuators and robotics.

ZHANG Wenjie

SUI Zhouli

Received his B.Sc. degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering(EE) at University of Leeds, England, in 2023. After that he received his M.Sc degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), National University of Singapore (NUS), in 2024. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the department of ECE, NUS. His research interest lies in development of wearable AI sensors and applications in robtics.

XU Aolei

After completing his B.Eng. in Electronic Science and Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2023, he earned an M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2024. Currently a PhD candidate in the ECE Department at NUS, his research centers on optoelectronic devices, acoustic-optical modulation techniques, and the development of optical neural networks for enhanced computational acceleration and memory efficiency.

XU Jingfeng

Received her B.Eng. degree in in Information Engineering from South China University of Technology, Guangdong, China, in 2024. She is currently a PhD student at the Department of ECE, NUS. Her research interests focus on edge AI–enhanced multimodal sensing systems.

ZHENG Daoye
Ph.D. Student / NUS Research Scholarship / Aug., 2025

Received his B.Eng. degree in Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering and M.Sc. degree in Optical Engineering, in 2021 and 2024, from Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China. Then he worked at Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute as a research assistant. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the department of ECE, NUS. His research interests focus on hybrid Integrated photonics for in-sensor computing and photonic neural network.

LIU Yuxin

After completing his B.Eng. in Opto-Electronics Information Science and Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in 2023, he earned an M.Sc. in Electronic and Information Engineering from SYSU in 2024. Currently a Ph.D. candidate in the ECE Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS), his research focuses on Electrostatic-Piezoelectric Hybrid-Actuated Nano-Optomechanical Integrated Chips for next-generation optical IoT sensing and photonic neural network applications.

Visiting PhD Students
LIN Shaomei

LIN Shaomei received her B.Sc. in Functional Materials from Donghua University in 2019. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Donghua University. She joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in March 2025. Her research focuses on flexible electronics and self-powered sensing systems.

ZHANG Hengfei

ZHANG Hengfei is pursuing a Ph.D in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in August 2025. His research focuses on the liquid-solid triboelectric nanogenerator and relevant sensing applications.

REN Ning

REN Ning is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Tianjin University. She joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in Aug 2025. Her current research interests are focused on nanocellulose-based conductive materials and intelligent hydrogel sensors.

Li Hongxin

Li Hongxin received the B.E. degree in 2020 and the M.S. degree in 2023 from the Xidian University, Xi'an, China. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the College of Intelligence Science and Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Changsha, China. He joined CiSM as a visiting PhD student in November 2025. His current research interests include human-robot interaction and human-machine hybrid intelligence.

Liu Yajing

LIU Yajing received her B.E. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in June 2022 . She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University since August 2022. She joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in November 2025. Her research interests focus on high-permittivity nanocomposites and flexible pressure sensors.

Tian Chengbo

Tian Chengbo received the B.E. degree from Qingdao University. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in January 2026. His current research interests focus on PVC gel-based active electronic skin for haptic interaction devices.

Hao Yijun

Hao Yijun received B.E. degree from Beijing Jiaotong University in 2022. He is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Beijing Jiaotong University since 2023. He joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in Jan. 2026. His research interests focus on high-performance TENG.

Xie Jiaqi

Xie Jiaqi received the B.E. degree from Taiyuan University of Technology. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Instrument Science and Technology at the College of Mechanical Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University. He joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in January 2026. His current research interests focus on flexible hydrovoltaic energy devices.

Received his Ph.D. degree in instrument science and technology from Xiamen University, China, in 2011. He is now a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, NUS. His research interests are focused on MEMS devices and intelligent sensor.

Currently pursuing his B.Sc. degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Tsinghua University in China. He joined CISM as an undergraduate visiting student in SEPT 2025. His research interests include sensors and actuators, and triboelectric nanogenerator with relevant applications.
