Currently a PhD candidate in the ECE Department at NUS, his research centers on optoelectronic devices, acoustic-optical modulation techniques, and the development of optical neural networks for enhanced computational acceleration and memory efficiency.
ZHOU Buguang received the B.Sc. & M.Sc. degree in the field of Textile chemistry and dyeing engineering from Jiangnan University in Wuxi, China, before 2020, and is now pursuing his Ph.D. from 2020 to the present in Textile Engineering at Donghua University in Shanghai, China. He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in August 2024. His research interests focus on biomass-derived renewable composite materials or novel multifunctional gels for self-powered sensors and flexible sensing applications.
WANG Song is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University. He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in September 2024. His current research interests are focused on flexible pressure sensors and multi-axis force sensors.
ZHANG Zhongtan is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Zhejiang University. He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in Oct 2024. His current research interests are focused on underwater flexible tactile sensors haptic feedback.
Wang Yang is pursuing a PhD in mechanics at Beihang University. He obtained his Master's degree from the School of Biological and Medical Engineering at Beihang University. His primary research interests lie in liquid metal circuits, flexible electronics, and the interplay between medicine and engineering. He began his studies at NUS on November 2, 2024.
XU Peihua is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University (CHN). He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in NOV 2024. His current research interests are focused on Flexible Sensors Capable of Proprioception and Exteroception in Soft Robotics.
HAO Yi is currently pursuing her PhD in Textile Science and Engineering at Jiangnan University. She joined in CISM as a visiting PhD student in Nov 2024. Her current research interests focus on functional fiber materials, flexible electronics and energy conversion devices.
YANG Huanyu received the B.Sc. degree from North University of China in June 2020. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Control Science and Engineering at Nanjing University of Science and Technology since September 2021. His research interests focus on RGB image-based small object perceptive, infrared small target detection, and object detection based on multi-modal image fusion.
ZHANG Shuai received the B.Sc. degree in Automation in 2014 and the M.Sc. degree in Control Engineering in 2018, both from Jiangnan University in Wuxi, China. Since 2021, he has been pursuing his Ph.D. in the School of Management at Hefei University of Technology in Hefei, China. He joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in January 2025. His research interests focus on medical robotics, medical image processing, and 3D reconstruction.
LU Xiao received the B.Sc. degree in the field of Electrical Engineering from Lanzhou Jiaotong University in Gansu, China, before 2017. He received the M.Sc. degree in the field of Renewable Energy Science and Engineering from Shanghai Electric Power University in Shanghai, China, before 2021, and is now pursuing his Ph.D. from 2022 to the present in Computer Science and Engineering at Shanghai University in Shanghai, China. He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in January 2025. His research interests focus on human intent perception and intelligent perception of unmanned systems.
LIN Shaomei received her B.Sc. in Functional Materials from Donghua University in 2019. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Donghua University. She joined CISM as a visiting Ph.D. student in March 2025. Her research focuses on flexible electronics and self-powered sensing systems.
LI Yihao is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Department of Automation, at Tsinghua University. He joined CISM as a visiting PhD student in Feb. 2025. His current research interests are focused on deep learning-driven design of metasurface-integrated FET Terahertz detectors.

Received her B.Sc and M.Sc. degrees in Department of Mechanical Engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China, in 2006 and 2008 respectively. She went on to receive her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore in Nov. 2012. She has been a Research Fellow in ECE, NUS since Jul. 2012. Her research interests are vibration-based MEMS energy harvesters and self powered MEMS devices. She was working on energy harvesting solutions for wireless wearable biosensors for disease management and prevention-oriented healthcare. She is currently an Associate Professor at Soochow University in China.

Liangge Xu is pursuing his Ph.D. at Harbin Institute of Technology from 2018 to the present. His current research mainly focuses on the optical film and the photoelectric film in the infrared region and introduces them into more advanced sensor devices.
Mang Gao, He obtained his master's degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, China with a major in Mechatronic Engineering, and currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. degree at the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan with a major in Mechanical Engineering. LUO Zhifang received the B.S. degree in Physics from ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai, China in 2019. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai, China. His research interests include the design and microfabrication techniques of piezoelectric Microelectromechanical System (MEMS) resonators for RF and sensing applications, and hybrid microsystems based on the integration of MEMS device with photonics for signal processing.

She went on to receive her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore in Nov. 2012. She has been a Research Fellow in ECE, NUS since Jul. 2012. Her research interests are vibration-based MEMS energy harvesters and self powered MEMS devices. She was working on energy harvesting solutions for wireless wearable biosensors for disease management and prevention-oriented healthcare. She is currently an Associate Professor at Soochow University in China.
Chia-Yi Huang received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Photonics, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 2010. He was employed as a Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore, Singapore. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Tunghai University, Taichung, Taiwan. His research interests include liquid crystal-based electro-optic devices, physics of metamaterials, and terahertz optics.
Received her B.Eng. degree from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore in 2009. She then continued to pursue a Ph.D. degree in the same department and worked on polymer-based nanostructures. She finished her Ph.D oral defense in Nov, 2013, and is now working as a research Engineer in ECE, NUS. Her research interest includes microfluidic chips for cell studies and applications of metamaterial devices.
Received his B.Eng. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2009 and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National University of Singapore in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He is now a postdoctoral fellow with Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore. His research interests include NEMS switches, gas sensing system and microfabrication technologies.
Received his B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering from Hubei University of Technology in 2006. After that he got his Master degree from University of Science and Technology of China and Ph.D from University of Missouri Columbia in 2015. He is currently a Research Fellow of ECE, NUS. His research interests are focused on MEMS zero-power sensor, wearable flexible sensor, and gas sensor.
Faezeh Arab Hassani, received Bachelor and M.Sc. degrees of Electronic Engineering in 2004 and 2008, respectively. After finishing of Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, in 2012, she joined Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan, for her Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) post-doctoral fellowship. From 2013 to 2014, she was working at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, as a research fellow. She then joined the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, as a post-doctoral research associate till 2016. She continued her research as a research fellow at the N.1 Institute of Health (former Singapore Institute for Neurotechnology), NUS, till 2019. She received a prestigious JSPS invitational fellow at the University of Tokyo in 2019 to conduct research at the laboratory of Prof. Takao Someya. She is currently a research fellow at ECE, NUS. Her research interests include micro/nano-electronics, micro/nano-electromechanical-systems (MEMS/NEMS) hybrid devices, sensors, actuators, and energy harvesters for biomedical and environmental applications.

His research interests include optical waveguides, integrated silicon photonics, and integrated mid-infrared photonics for sensing and healthcare applications.

Received her B.Eng. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2016, and Ph.D. degree in Nano Science and Technology from Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. She is currently a Research Fellow in the Dept. of ECE, NUS. Her research interests mainly focus on gel-based neural interfaces and wearable sensors.
Received his B.E. degree in Civil Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2016, and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degree from the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India, in 2022. From 2019 to 2020, he has worked as a visiting researcher in the Biomedical Engineering Department (BME), Pennsylvania State University in the domain of functional micro-acoustic imaging. From 2021 to 2022, he has also worked as a senior project associate at the MEMS lab, CeNSE, IISc before joining the Center for Intelligent Sensor and MEMS (CISM) at NUS. His research interests include experimental ultrasound, MEMS, piezoelectricity and photoacoustics.

From 2009 to 2011, he was employed as an assistant researcher at the Department of System in Packaging, Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Science (IME,CAS). From 2011 to now, he was employed as an associate professor of IME,CAS. His research interests are optoelectronics integration, radio frequency packaging and MEMS packaging.

She is a visiting professor in the National University of Singapore (2019), and is an Associate Professor in the Taiyuan University of Technology, China. Her main research interests include Micronanometer device and its intelligent system, Intelligent sensor system, and Multi-sensor information fusion.
Dr. Achu Chandran is a Senior Scientist at CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram, India. He has completed his PhD in Engineering from AcSIR, CSIR-NPL Campus, New Delhi, India and subsequently joined CSIR-CEERI, Pilani, India as Scientist in 2016. Dr. Chandran’s research interest is in the area of electronic materials and devices, specifically; Piezoelectric and triboelectric nanogenerators, flexible tactile sensors, printed wearable heaters, soft memory devices, Low-temperature Co-fired Ceramics Technology (LTCC) and MEMS packaging. He has authored more than 40 publications in reputed international journals with an average impact factor of ~7, one technology licensed and filed one patent to his credits. Dr. Chandran is awarded with prestigious INAE-Young Engineer Award (2022) from Indian National Academy of Engineering, CSIR-Young Scientist Award (2021) in Engineering, Kerala State Young Scientist Award (2022) by Govt. of Kerala, IEI-Young Engineer Award by The Institution of Engineers (India) (2022-23), R. L. Thakur Memorial Award from Indian Ceramic Society (2022), ISEES Young Scientist Award-2022 from International Society for Energy, Environment and Sustainability, SERB-Early Career Research Award (2019), DAAD fellowship (2015), Germany etc. Dr. Chandran is inducted as ‘Young Associate’ to the Indian National Academy of Engineering since 2023 and a Member of the Senate of AcSIR (2022-24). He has been a Visiting Professor to ESYCOM-CNRS-ESIEE, Paris and UDSMM-ULCO, Calais, France under Scientific High Level Visiting Fellowship-2023 by the Embassy of France in India. Dr. Chandran is currently a Visiting Professor to, CISM, Electrical and Computer Engineering, NUS, Singapore through SERB-SIRE Fellowship 2023 from Govt. of India. His topic of research is ‘Printed Piezoelectric-Enhanced Triboelectric Nanogenerator Arrays for Wearable Biomechanical Energy Harvesting and Self-Powered Electronic Skin Applications’.

Selected for the "ChuTian Scholar" talent program in Hubei Province, is the research director of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Hubei University of Technology. Hosted one National Natural Science Foundation project and four provincial and ministerial level projects in China. The research results have won one second prize of Henan Province Science and Technology Achievement Award and one second prize of China Electric Power Science and Technology Innovation Award, published more than 50 SCI/EI indexed journal papers, and edited two monographs. He is now a Visting Scholar at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, NUS. His research interests are focused on insulation status monitoring technology for electrical equipment.
I hold a Ph.D. in drug development, specialized in the development of nanocarriers for gene therapy applications, from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in the Neuroethology Laboratory at the Veracruzana University, Mexico, and my Master of Science degree in the Technological Pharmaceutical Laboratory at the University of the Basque Country, Spain. My research interests are the development of biosensors and microfluidic technology applied to medical technology. My research is currently carried out in the Microfluidics Cluster group at the University of the Basque Country, Spain.
