A novel controller for BLDC motorThis work is aimed at developing a controller for disk drive spindle motor. This controller uses a QRC (Quasi-resonant) converter, thus eliminating switching losses. Hence it can be operated at very high frequencies reducing the component sizes. The controller section uses a neural net approach for control and for brushless operation. This controller finds application in Notebook and Portable computers. This work is funded by a university RP. |
Advanced Actuator DevelopmentIn the area of micro-motors, research is being carried out jointly with Mechanical Engineering Department for developing miniaturised Piezo-electric Micromotor Drives which are projected to have significant biomedical engineering applications. |
