High-performance torque control of SRM and PMSM DrivesThis work aims at investigations on modern control techniques for torque control of SRM and PMSM drives. The central point of research in this work is to develop efficient algorithms for the determination of suitable phase current waveforms and their faithful tracking such that constant and ripple free torque can be obtained from SRM and PMSM drives. Since the torque ripples in both SRM and PMSM are periodic in nature, the principle of iterative learning control which exploits the periodicity of torque characteristics has been |
thoroughly investigated and applied for real-time control. This work is funded by a university RP and is in continuation of previous work. Also, rotor position sensor is an integral part of the SR drive system. Rotor position information can be obtained using direct rotor position sensors or can also be obtained using indirect means. There are several disadvantages in using direct position sensors in drive system. In this area of research, various indirect rotor position-sensing schemes have been studied and practically implemented. This work is funded by another university RP. |
