The first ECE Graduate Tea Session was a successful informal session of professors and students from various research groups of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The session was headed by Prof. Chua (Head of the Department) with other eminent professors of the Department participating with their research students.

The Session started with tea where students and staff had a light round of introduction with the students of diverse research background. This was continued by a speech of introduction by prof. Thong who is also the professor in-charge for the Graduate Student Council body where he talked about the importance and reason of the GSC. This was followed by a speech by Chen Xiaolei (President of GSC) where he talked about the mission of the Graduate Student Council emphasising on the vision and plans for the future like organising the symposium in the later part of the semester where all the students will be given an excellent chance to showcase their talent. He further emphasised on the importance of the student support needed for the long run of the GSC body.

After the speech everyone was invited to join for light refreshments where a healthy student - staff interaction took place. The interaction involved sharing of views and discussion on the future advancement and scope in different technologies. After all the above activities, the informal tea session was concluded with a vote of thanks to all the students and staffs for their help and support.

Everyone was asked for the feedback before leaving and all were very satisfied and encouraged the GSC members to arrange more of such kind of events thus making the inaugural tea session a great and memorable one in the history of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in National University of Singapore (NUS).
