Highlights
Since its inauguration in July 2010, ECE Graduation Night has been an important event for graduating students in the Department during the commencement weeks. Continuing its momentum from last year, ECE Graduation Night 2011 on Monday, July 11, 2011 was a truly successful event, featuring brilliant performances by both ECE faculties and students, and attracting hundreds of graduating students and their families and friends. It was a memorable night for both the performers and audience.
We at ECE Graduate Student Council (GSC) are proud of making our own contributions to the success of ECE Graduation Night 2011. Ganesh Iyer, our General Secretary, put up a wonderful traditional Indian dancing. This is the second time that he has been invited to perform at ECE Graduation Night. Ganesh also served in the organizing committee of ECE Graduation Night 2011.
Other GSC committee members also helped at back stage during the hours before the opening of ECE Graduation Night 2011. In particular, Zhe Zhang and Xiaolei put up the banner at Engineering Auditorium; Rizwan helped with the photography; Ganesh (yes, that same Ganesh!) and Xiaolei helped blow quite a few balloons for decoration. Of course, Xiaolei is willing to admit that a few balloons blew up at his hands. One would say that these require mostly muscle, and do not seem challenging. But we believe that, besides our muscle, our passion stands out.
