Research Projects


1.   Development of electromagnetic models of symmetrical n-port 
couplers (implemented in waveguide as well as microstrip) for use in 
computer-aided design of novel prototypes.

2.   Development of novel six-port reflectometers that measure 
reflection coefficients of one-port microwave devices (using only 4 
power detectors).

3.   Development of novel multi-state (four-port) reflectometers 
that measure reflection coefficients of one-port microwave devices 
(using only 2 power detectors).

4.   Development of novel six-port and multi-state calibration 
procedures that require only 4 standards (instead of 5-7 standards 
as proposed by other researchers).

5.   Development of novel nine-port network analysers that measure 
scattering coefficients of two-port microwave devices (using only 6 
power detectors).

6.   Development of procedures to detect 180-degree phase 
discrepancies in transmission-coefficient readings taken by 
automatic network analysers - in collaboration with National 
Physical Laboratory (Malvern, UK) and Hewlett Packard (Santa Rosa,
