Dipti Srinivasan is a Professor in the Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where she also heads the Centre for Green Energy Management & Smart Grid (GEMS). She is an adjunct researcher with the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS). She obtained her M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. She worked at the University of California at Berkeley’s Computer Science Division as a postdoctoral researcher from 1994 to 1995, and as a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from 1998-1999.
Professor Srinivasan has extensive industry experience, having worked as a design engineer with an Indian utility for three years, and through several projects with Singapore utilities. Her recent research projects have focused on power system optimization and control, wind and solar power prediction, electricity price prediction, generation unit commitment and dispatch, and development of multi-agent systems for micro-grid operation and control. She has secured over S$11 Million in external funding for research projects in these areas. She has published more than 300 publications which have been highly cited. Dipti is an active member in IEEE CIS and PES societies, and was awarded the IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer award in 2010. She is currently serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Computational Intelligence magazine, and Area Editor of International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-based Systems.
Professor Srinivasan has taught courses on a range of subjects such as advanced power system analysis, power system management & protection, computational intelligence, and sustainable energy systems among others. She was the winner of NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award in years 2007, 2008 and 2009, and was placed on the 2011-2015 Annual Teaching Excellence Award Honour Roll. She is the recipient of Engineering Educator Award from the Faculty of Engineering, NUS in 2011 and 2012.
