Supervisor's Foreword

The Communications & Networks Laboratory supports research and development work in both hardware and software for complex communications & networks systems. It is also well-equipped for supporting optical communications research. The main objectives of the laboratory are:

  • To carry out high quality research in Telecommunications and Optical Communications systems

  • To attract international collaborations between NUS ECE Department and other universities all over the world

  • To produce world class leaders in Communications & Networks research through higher degree programs

The activities in this Communications & Networks laboratory cover two broad categories: (1) theoretical or analytical aspects of network and computing algorithms and protocols, and (2) implementation aspects of network protocols and procedures, in systems and test-beds ranging from a single node to wide-area networks with many nodes, to achieve desired functionalities such as Quality of Service (QoS) and Security.
