Microelectronic Technologies & Devices


Research activities in this Area are centered on the manipulation and control of electrons, photons and spin at the nanoscale for developing electronic, photonic and spintronic devices with excellent performance in terms of speed, power consumption, functionality, and ubiquity. The scope of research is also extended to the integration of these devices with MEMS/NEMS for applications in sensors and actuators, and energy harvesting and storage. Current major research topics include nanomaterials & nanostructures, silicon nanodevices, optotoelectronics, photonics & plasmonics, nanomagnetism & spintronics, renewable energy, nano-sensors, and MEMS.
