Visits - Organized

EPGC-Experimental Power Grid Centre, Singapore – 5th November 2015

As a first collaborative activity between the GEMS and IEEE Singapore Power chapter, a visit to A-Star Experimental Power Grid Center was arranged on 5th November 2015. EPGC is located on Jurong Island and has a 1-MW micro grid facility connected to the Singapore Power Grid.Researchers from NUS and NTU have participated in this visit. The main target of the visit is to make the researchers familiarize with the challenges in practical micro grid management and the state-of-the art technologies and strategies used in controlling the micro grid. Also, the visit was targeted to have a direct interaction with the experts in the domain of renewable energy integration to find the solutions for the issues raised in developing laboratory scale hybrid energy system setups.
