Course Information:

Instructors: A/P Chua Kee Chaing and Dr. Vikram SRINIVASAN

Objectives: To expose graduate students to recent advances in the area of wireless networks and inculcate the ability  to conduct independent and innovative research.

Teaching Format: In each lecture, the instructors will facilitate a discussion on 1-2 recent research papers that will be assigned prior to class.

Assessments: 

  • Research Project     50% (lit survey + proposal = 20%, final presentation 20%, peer review of presentation 5%, peer review of papers 5%)

  • Paper Review            5%

  • Class Participation    5%

  • Final Exam                40%

Workload: Students are expected to read up to 3-4 research papers per week and spend a few hours on the research project.

Prerequisite/Co-requisite:

  1. Math Skills: Knowledge of probability theory and optimization will be an advantage.

  2. Software skills: ns-2, Matlab will be an advantage.
