Soot blower optimization system for the Samsung Heavy Industries Limited, Korea for the Samsung thermal power plant: Using the techniques of fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and the theory of rough sets, an intelligent inference mechanism is being developed for optimal soot blowing. A neuro-fuzzy inference system is being proposed incorporating the theory of rough sets. The theory of rough sets helps to avoid redundant rules and data in the inference system. Rough fuzzy neurons are being proposed and will be used in the design of the inference system.
