Research Funding

Each year, the Department initiates several new research projects which are either internally funded by Ministry of Education or externally funded by government organizations and industries. These external funding organizations are often collaborators in the projects and they include Ministry of Defense;   Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR);  National Research Institutes/Centers;   Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Pte Ltd; etc.

For 2008, we received a total of $4.54 million of new internal funding and $20.35 million of new external funding.
