The City Experience Tour showcases the contrast between old and new and the blend of East and West. Experience the history, culture and the lifestyle of multi-racial Singapore, the exciting heart of New Asia-Singapore. We will drive pass the Colonial district for a view of Padang, The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and The Merlion - a mythical beast, Singapore's original half lion, half fish. Next stop, a visit to Little India, Chinatown and Gem Factory, admire the best of Asian craftsmanship. Last stop, visit the 52 hectares of primarily jungle and gardens, the famed Botanic Gardens.

 

SIN PS/X 502       -        City Tour by Land & Water

This is the tour that takes you overland and through water to make sure you*re soaked and wringing wet with culture and everything fantastic about Singapore. Tour begins with a visit to Kampong Glam - originally a fishing village at the mouth of the Rochor River, it was the historic seat of Malay royalty in Singapore. Look out for the Arab cloth merchants with their delicate silks and velvets, food stores selling traditional Arab-Muslim food stuff and merchandise of all kinds. Next, drive through the Colonial district for a view of Parliament House and the imposing Supreme Court and City Hall that overlooks the Padang. Then, we proceed to Chinatown where you will enter the 160 years old Thian Hock Temple, a must for Chinese immigrants in the early days and uniquely built without any use of nail joints. Stop by at the Gem Factory, admire the best of Asian craftsmanship. Down to the Water 每 enjoy the Singapore River Boat Tour.

 

SIN PS/X 506       -        Eastern Heartlands

The tour begins with a visit to to the Changi Prison Museum and views a replica of the chapel that was used during the World War II Japanese Occupation of Singapore. Enroute let our guide recount the darkest times of WWII.

The tour then proceeds to The Changi Beach Park, a nice tropical beach located at the north-eastern part of Singapore near to the Changi Airport. Move on to Changi Village, there are plenty of bargains to be found, T-shirts, electronic equipments, carpets and many other more.

Lastly, we will take a ride through a typical modern housing estate. Be amazed by the stark contrast between the old and new as we drive pass the Tampines town centre.

We'll cross over to Sentosa with a breathtaking Cable Car ride across to Mount Faber where you can catch a beautiful view of the harbour and the cruise centre.

Next, we'll board the shuttle for a ride to the The Merlion. Take the lift to the top floor and be rewarded with a 360∼ view of Sentosa and Singapore*s southern shores.

Finally, visit fascinating Underwater World which at last count has a collection of 6,000 fish from 350 species. Served by a moving travellator, you can marvel at the mysteries of the deep through a 83-metre acrylic tunnel.

Your journey begins with a ride to the Clarke Quay, a riverside festival village to enjoy a sumptuous meal at a local restaurant. Visit a Pewter Gallery to discover the history of pewter and role of tin in the development of Singapore as a trading port. Demonstration on pewtersmithing is also included. Next you will take a Merlion boat ride, one of the first of its kind in Asia giving you a panoramic 180-degree view of the scenery without obstruction. Next stop - Bugis Village. Lots of shops and stalls selling everything from electronics and household items to clothes, knick-knacks and accessories can be found in this hub.

 

Your sojourn in Singapore will not be complete without a visit to Singapore's oldest hotel - The Raffles Hotel. Built during the colonial days and named after Singapore's founder, Sir Stamford Raffles, the hotel has been restored to its full splendour. While at the Raffles, be sure to treat yourself to the world-famous Singapore Sling (Optional).

What does it mean to be a Peranakan? Heritage that combines the best of the Chinese and Malay cultures, the hybrid nature of the Peranakan has yielded enviable works of art in the realm of architecture, embroidery, beadwork and the culinary arts. Join us on a colourful journey into the history, lifestyle and unique character of the Peranakan people.The tour starts with a visit to Koon Seng Road/Joo Chiat, best known for its colourful rows of traditional Peranakan shophouses, dating back to the 1920s and 1930s, which line its narrow streets. The area is named after Chew Joo Chiat, a wealthy Peranakan landowner, who built shophouses and residential units on land he bought after World War I. Next, we will stop to see nonya chang demonstration. This shop is famous with it homemade "Ba Chang" (Rice Dumpling) and other snacks such as Soon Kueh, Otak and Pineapple Tart.

Tour continues with a stop at Katong, evokes a warm nostalgia, especially among the older generation of Singaporean. Katong has retained a hold on its past, reveling in its incredibly rich Peranakan and Eurasian heritage and architecture and soaking in its great charm. Stop for a Peranakan beading demonstration followed by food sampling at Peranakan Restaurant.

The first destination is to one of Singapore's first and most bustling housing estates - Toa Payoh. Built more than 30 years ago, this vibrant new town offers excellent value for money shopping and local food. It is also home to the Housing & Development Board (HDB), the government agency tasked with developing homes for more than 80% of the population.

The next stop is the quaint and bohemian town of Holland Village, which is lived in and well patronized by Singaporeans and expatriates alike. The organic 'village' is renowned for its excellent local & international food and electric shops where one can find curios, antiques, furniture, art, carpets, clothing & more - all with a unique Asian flavor.

This half-day afternoon tour includes samplings of delectable local fare & the opportunity to shop with the locals

Feng shui literally means ※wind§ and ※water§, the belief that heaven*s energy or qi travels on the wind and stops when it reaches water. The tour begins with a visit to one of the foremost geomancy centres. See the tools of the trade and learn how to arrange household items, ever mindful where the ※wealth position§ lies. The trip across the causeway will take us into another country - Malaysia. Johor Bahru is the capital of Johor State in Peninsular Malaysia. Although close in proximity to Singapore, the way of life is somewhat different from that of Singapore.

We will visit a Moorish-styled building housing the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque. Perhaps you'll chance upon a few worshippers in prayers.

Next stop - Craft Town. An opportunity to view traditional Malay arts and crafts. See the craftsmen busy at work with their batik printing and songket cloth weaving (songket is the cloth used to make traditional Malay outfits, especially at Malay weddings or festive occasions like Hari Raya Puasa).

We'll take a walk through a typical Malay kampong (village). A chance for you to experience first-hand the simple, happy, rural way of life.

Malacca, a town rich in culture and history, is located on the western coast of the Malaysian Peninsula. It was previously colonised by the Portuguese, Dutch and British.

After crossing the causeway, we'll drive past Ayer Hitam. On our arrival in Malacca, we'll be treated to sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant. We'll visit St.Paul's Church to view the open grave where St.Francis Xavier was buried in 1553 before his body was moved to Goa in India. Next, proceed to Christ Church, Dutch Square, where we'll see a beautiful picture of "The Last Supper" in glazed tiles over the altar.

Don't miss the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple - the oldest Chinese temple in Malacca, and the ruins of the Portuguese fortress, Porte de Santiago.
