Abstract

Process control automation has migrated from pneumatic instrumentation to electric / electronic first and now is smart / digital. The introduction of powerful microprocessors and application of software technology has brought it to a level of sophistication that is very dynamic and gaining acceptance due proven solutions that are more robust, accurate and reliable.

A student with sound electrical fundamentals coupled with computer and software knowledge is considered to have right skill set to step into this industry. This presentation will also cover brief introduction of Yokogawa and its R&D centre in Singapore.

Biography

Sharad Vishwasrao completed his graduation from University of Bombay and did his MBA from University of Southern Queensland. He has over 20 years of industry experience. He started his career in a Shell refinery and has worked in the sales, marketing and technical support department of major manufacturers. He is presently employed with Yokogawa Engineering Asia Pte Ltd. in their R&D department (Singapore Development Centre) as a Senior Manager.
