Introduce a Girl to EnginXXring 2011

A full day event was jointly organized along with Agilent Technologies and Cedar Girls Secondary School on 2 November 2011 for more than 100 upper secondary girls to initiate them on a quest to discover more about Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The students heard directly from staff members of EDB and ECE Department (NUS) the pink health of the electronics sector in manufacturing in Singapore, and the need for a good and sustained ratio of female in the engineering profession.

Apart from the talks, the girls visited laboratories in ECE, engaged in hands-on activities building useful electronic gadgets and even went on a brief tour of the University Town. These activities at NUS were followed by a visit to Agilent Technologies where they interacted with electronic engineers in Agilent via games and informal sharing sessions, and saw for themselves female engineers at work.
